I take an individualized approach with all my clients. Our first session will involve getting a detailed history so I can better tailor my work with you. We will review your nutritional, medical, weight, physical and emotional backgrounds. Following sessions will be focused on getting a meal plan in place (if necessary), exploring your relationship to food, challenging distortions you have around food/eating/weight/exercise, setting goals, completing reading, and writing agendas, and addressing any body Image concerns.

In addition to pursuing physical recovery and nutritional rehabilitation, it is crucial to also address the thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors that maintain an eating disorder and interfere with normal daily functioning in your life. We will also be exploring how your emotions can be directly tied to your eating. Most importantly, we will go at a pace you are comfortable with.

A free 15-minute phone consultation is available and recommended. The initial consultation is typically a 60-minute session. Length of treatment varies depending on the diagnosis/es and specific goals you have. Follow-up sessions can be 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes and can fluctuate in time and frequency based on your current needs.

WHAT WILL NOT HAPPEN:

No scale. Standing on a scale and recording a number is not a factor to determine success. In fact, I highly encourage you to NOT weigh yourself at home. The anxiety around the scale and an arbitrary number doesn’t exist in my office so that we can focus on what is important. You, not your weight.

WHY WORK WITH ME:

I am a seasoned, experienced eating disorder dietitian with over 30 years in the field. I have worked at all levels of treatment (outpatient, IOP, PHP residential and hospitals). This is a rare skill set to have. I have helped develop multiple eating disorder programs and am constantly striving to learn more about my field. I complete rigorous continuing education and seek out supervision with colleagues whenever I can.

Who I partner with:

Counselors, psychologists, and physicians who specialize in eating disorders and other mental health issues. I also work with an exercise physiologist/certified athletic trainer who helps my clients find a plan that meets their fitness goals that is safe and effective.
